Hometown Sports Report 11-5-07

 

Another week of High School Football action is in the books.  In a game heard live on KHTS Friday night, Ryan Zirbel scored the go ahead touchdown with 4:39 left in the game, and Mario Wright wrapped things up with an interception with 1:13 left, and the Saugus Centurions beat the Canyon Cowboys for the first time since 2001, 18-14.  Senior quarterback B.R. Holbrook found receiver Brian Felt four times for touchdowns as the Indians from Hart High beat the Golden Valley Grizzlies, 49-13.  The Hart win sets up a showdown with Saugus on Friday night for the Foothill League Championship.  You can hear that game live on KHTS at 7:00.  The Valencia Vikings knocked off the West Ranch Wildcats, 36-6, on Friday night, in a game also heard on KHTS.  Graham Wilbert had 359 yards passing for the Vikings.

 

The College of the Canyons Cougars defeated L.A. Harbor 53-15 on Saturday night, in a game heard live on KHTS.  The Cougars win, along with Bakersfield College’s defeat of Allan Hancock on Saturday, sets up an exciting game this Saturday at Bakersfield for the WSC Mountain Division Championship.

 

The Los Angeles Kings split a two-game series with the San Jose Sharks this past weekend.  The Kings next game can be heard Saturday on KHTS at 7:00pm
