Hometown Sports Report

[view:node_ad=5]Wrapping up the weekend’s local football action, it was a time for fantastic finishes.  Saugus beat Westlake 33 to 28 on a last second Hail Mary pass from Desi Rodriquez to Chris Aaron. West Ranch beat Corona 28 to 27, as they stopped a two-point conversion in overtime.  Hart rolled over Bishop Amat 42 to 11.  Canyon lost to top-ranked St. Bonaventure 28 to 17.  Valencia lost to Birmingham 29 to 14.  And Santa Clarita Clarita Christian was beaten by number 1 ranked Joshua Springs 66 to 27.

 

In college football action, the Cougars of COC behind nearly 500 yards of total offense, easily beat Santa Barbara City College 51 to 24.

 

In baseball, the Angels lost to the Chicago White Sox 9 to 7 on Jim Thome’s walk off homerun in the ninth.  Thome becomes the 23rd player in Major League baseball history to hit 500 career homer runs. 

 

The Dodgers lost 6 to 1 to the Arizona Diamondbacks and remain 2 and a half games behind the San Diego Padres for the wild card. The Dodgers take to the road with a double header on Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies.  KHTS will have all of the action with the first pitch at 12:05, preceded by the pre-game show at 11:30.
