It’s time for a Foothill League basketball update.  First up are the boy’s teams, and Santa Clarita is having one of its better pre-league season’s.  The Saugus Centurions are 5-0, with Canyon close behind at 5-1.  An upstart Golden Valley squad is 6-2, Hart is 4-2, Valencia 3-2, and West Ranch is 4-3, making all six schools over .500 on the season to this point.  Saugus is averaging over 70 points per game (ppg), and defeated Westlake to win the Saugus Shoot Out.  The Cowboys defeated Lancaster to win the Canyon Classic, while West Ranch scored a school-record 115 points in their season opener.

 

In girl’s action, Saugus and Canyon have pulled away from the pack early in the year.  The Centurions are 6-1, with the Cowboys close behind at 6-3.  West Ranch is 3-2; Valencia is 2-4, with Hart 1-3 and Golden Valley 1-6.  The Centurions were winners of the Valencia High Five tournament, defeating Taft in the final, while Canyon defeated Notre Dame and Thousand Oaks on their way to winning the Crescenta Valley Tournament.  Don’t forget, KHTS will bring you all of the boy’s Foothill League action live, starting on Tuesday, January 8th when Valencia takes on Saugus.

 

The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the New Jersey Nets, 91-82.

 

The Los Angeles Kings take on Chicago tonight, and KHTS will have all of the action live at 5pm.
