Semifinal action wrapped up on the gridiron this weekend, and after the smoke cleared, one Foothill League team remained.  The Hart Indians dominated Newbury Park, 37-6, on Friday night.  Delano Howell scored four touchdowns and amassed over 200 total yards.  The second-ranked Indians advance to the CIF-SS Northern Division Championship Game, where they will take on top-ranked St. Bonaventure.  St. Bonaventure pulled away from Saugus in the fourth quarter to win, 55-36.  The Centurions trailed by only a touchdown twice in the fourth quarter, but the nation’s best prep running back Darrell Scott proved to be too much to handle on his way to over 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns.  The Northern Division Championship Game can be heard live on KHTS, from the Home Depot Center in Carson, on Saturday at 3:30pm.

The Saugus Centurions girl’s cross country team finished second at the Nike Team Nationals this weekend.

Congratulations to the three SCV teams to win their PYFL Super Bowl’s this weekend:  The Junior Canyon Outlaw Black, SCVAA Bantam Chiefs, and the SCVAA Pee Wee Warriors were all crowned champions on Saturday.

Both of Los Angeles’ college football teams made bowl games.  The USC Trojans will take on Illinois in the Rose Bowl.  The UCLA Bruins are headed to the Las Vegas Bowl to take on BYU.
