The second-season pairing for Foothill League soccer have been released, and unlike the basketball pairings, the Foothill League has zero wildcard contenders.  On the boy’s side of the playoff brackets, the three league co-champions have tough opening acts.  Saugus travels to Montclair on Friday for their first game.  Canyon will also go on the road, traveling to Villa Park.  Hart is the only team with a home game, hosting Peninsula.

Girl’s teams also receive tough opening round matchups.  Saugus won their first ever league title, and were rewarded with the No. 2 seed.  On Saturday, the Centurions will host the winner of a wildcard game between Rowland and Rialto.  Hart was also rewarded a home game against Don Lugo.  Canyon was relegated to a wildcard round opener at home against Newbury Park on Wednesday.

CIF basketball playoffs start tomorrow night, and KHTS will be live from Golden Valley High where the Grizzlies take on Burbank in the wildcard round.  You can catch all the action starting at 7:15pm.

Congratulations to Valencia High forward Skyler Seymour, this week’s Lockheed Player of the Week.

Skyler scored 48 points, with 17 rebounds in the final week of Foothill League play, helping the Vikings to their first league championship since 2005.

For his production, Lockheed Federal Credit Union will donate $250.00 to the Valencia High athletics program.

Congratulations from everyone at Lockheed Federal Credit Union and your Hometown Station, AM-1220, KHTS.
