CIF Southern Section basketball playoffs got under way with the wildcard round last night, but the results were only a third positive for Foothill League teams.  In a game heard live on KHTS, Burbank ended Golden Valley’s season, 70-51.  In a shocking turn of events, Hart also was defeated, surrendering 104 points to A.B. Miller while scoring 95.  The Canyon Cowboys picked up the slack for the other two teams, defeating Temecula Valley 78-60 without star point guard Mark Lewis.  Canyon travels to Cajon on Friday.  KHTS will be live from Valencia High on Friday when the Vikings take on either Crescenta Valley or Los Altos at 7:15pm.

Soccer playoffs also got off to a rocky start, as the Canyon Cowboys girl’s team lost to Newbury Park, 2-1.

Girl’s basketball playoffs get underway tonight, when Valencia travels to Crescenta Valley for a wildcard game.
