[view:node_ad=5]In girls’ tennis, it was the opening day of Foothill League action and Valencia made a statement by crushing West Ranch 17 to 1. Hart defeated Saugus 11 to 7 and Canyon rolled over Golden Valley 14 to 4.
In girls volleyball, West Ranch swept Alemany in 3 games. Saugus lost to Chaminade 3 to 1 and Canyon lost to Buena in a three game sweep.
In girls’ golf, the Hart Indians set a new Foothill League record by carding a score of 175. The Indians were led by Amanda Corr, who shot an even-par 31. Valencia came in second with a score of 186, edging out Saugus who had a score of 188.
Don’t forget that KHTS will bring you exciting high school football action this Friday night as the undefeated Saugus Centurions play host to Notre Dame. The pre-game show starts at 7:00. Barry McKeever will have the play-by-play at 7:30, on KHTS AM-1220.
In baseball, the Dodgers were mathematically eliminated from post-season play with a 9 to 7 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The two teams face off again tonight and KHTS will have all of the action with the first pitch at 7:10, preceded by the pre-game show at 6:30.
