Hometown Sports Report 9-27-07

By: Mike Jaffe of the Sports Reporter

It’s been an up and down week for the West Ranch Wildcats football team.  For the first time they made the CIF Northern Division’s Top Ten rankings at number 9, then discovered that they will have to forfeit last week’s 41 to 22 win over Pasadena, after it was determined that one of their players was declared academically ineligible. The Wildcats return to the field tonight at Glendora.

In women’s volleyball, COC swept Antelope Valley College in 3 games to even their season record to 3 and 3.

Don’t forget that KHTS will bring you exciting high school football action tomorrow night as the undefeated Saugus Centurions play host to Knights of Notre Dame.  The pre-game show starts at 7:00, with the kickoff at 7:30, on AM-1220 KHTS.

In baseball, the Dodgers lost 2 – 0 to the Colorado Rockies, who have won 10 straight.  The two teams face off again tonight and KHTS will have all of the action with the first pitch at 7:10, preceded by the pre-game show at 6:30.

Finally, the NHL season begins this Saturday as the Kings face off against the Stanley Cup Champion, Anaheim Ducks.  KHTS will bring you the action, LIVE from London, England.  Special coverage begins at 8:30 am.
