Kern County Raceway Park honored the inaugural track champions and top performers at Saturday’s Championship Awards Banquet.

The eight champions included  David Mayhew, Tim Smith, Brock Thompson, Billy Lay, Buddy Shepherd, Tyler Bannister, Jerry Flippo and Kyleigh Forster. Mayhew, Smith, and Thompson won their titles on the half-mile speedway while Lay, Shepherd, and Bannister did their bidding on the quarter-mile track.  The one-eighth mile held the Mini Dwarf crowns to Flippo and Forster.

In addition to the trophies being handed out, a variety of door prizes were offered for the more than 200 attendees.  Door prizes included safety gear from DJ Safety and oil from CITGO Lubricants & Wholesale Fuels.

Other prizes that were up for grabs are gift certificates from K&N Filters, Greenway Pest Control, Essentials Day Spa, Original Roadhouse Grill, and tickets to the Bakersfield Blaze, CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners Men’s Basketball, Kern County Raceway Park, and the Bakersfield Condors.  Additional prize sponsors include Coca Cola, Auto Graphics, and Ricky Bassman photography.

Tickets are available for the Monster Energy Freestyle Motocross to be held Saturday November 23rd.  

Ten of the world’s best riders will fly through the sky with the show starting at 2 p.m. and adult tickets starting at just $15.  Ticket information is available at KernRaceway.com
