The champions will be decided for the NASCAR Pro Late Model, NASCAR Mini Stock, Jr. and Sr. Mini Dwarf divisions as well as the NASCAR Spec-modifieds.

The corvettes of Bakersfield will be displayed during the nights activities and K&N Filters will award $100 worth of gift certificates to all of the race winners and champions. Fans will be given the chance to win K&N Filters merchandise and tickets to the “Talladega Frights” haunted house.

Tim Smith holds the points lead for the Pro Late Model class with three victories this year as the only repeat winner.  Second in points Donny St. Ours has been red hot since his MMI 100 win on July 13th, recording four runner-up finishes in the last five races.

Joining the Pro Late Model regulars will be an MMI Services-sponsored duo of David Mayhew and Johnny White.  Mayhew has won 15 races in the NASCAR CITGO Lubricants Late Models division this year while White is third in the CITGO points as the leading rookie.  The teammates will run differing engine packages in their chase after Smith and St. Ours.  Irwindale regular David Ross will make his Kern Raceway debut on Saturday as well.

The NASCAR Mini Stock championship is all but wrapped up for Billy Lay, after recording five main event wins.  Lay is comfortably ahead of three-time winner Dylan Baker by 24 points in the championship hunt.

Both Mini Dwarf divisions have been dominated by their points leaders, with Jerry Flippo only needing to start Saturday’s Sr. Dwarf main event to win the championship.  Flippo is a perfect seven-for-seven this year.  Kyleigh Forester has won six of seven events in Jr. Mini Dwarf, but Kabe McClenny trails by only ten points in a very consistent season as well.

The NASCAR Spec-Mods had their largest field of the season with 11 entrants on September 21st with another large turnout of the open wheel cars expected this week.  Chris Dalton leads the points standings on the strength of four wins, with a 16 point cushion on his teammate Bailey Thompson.  The Spec-Mods will race three times in October.
