Saturday’s races at the brand-new Bakersfield raceway will have a tripleheader of quarter-mile action with the INEX Legends, INEX Bandoleros, and NASCAR Mini Stocks.

Circle Track magazine will attend the races in the fourth annual AMSOIL Great American Circle Track Tour.  The magazine, who is dedicated to oval racing, will be embarking on a four-year adventure to cover racing track all across the United States.  They will also have giveaways for both drivers and fans this weekend along with a full print-article.

To celebrate the opening of Ron Howard’s Formula 1 movie RUSH, Edwards Cinema will be on hand with ticket giveaways and movie posters as well.

Bakersfield’s David Mayhew will try to rush back into victory lane on Saturday night, looking for his ninth straight victory to extend his points lead over Eric Richardson.  Mayhew’s rookie teammate nearly won the second 35 lap race on September 14th, and has leapt to third in the overall points as one of the top challengers to Mayhew and Richardson.  A 50 lap race is scheduled on the half-mile.

2012 Ocean Sprint Car champion Shane Golobic will be behind the wheel of a High Point Racing entry in preparation for the NAPA Auto Parts 150 for the NASCAR West Series in October, adding flair to the event.

The INEX Legends action has been dominated in the second half of the year by 13 year-old Buddy Shepherd, with a comfortable points advantage.  Brothers Donny and Johnathan St. Ours returned to the series last Saturday with Donny taking the win over Shepherd.  Second in points Ricky Schlick will also return to the track on Saturday in what is shaping up to be a battle royale.

Tyler Bannister leads the INEX Bandolero points in his rookie season with eight victories, but La Mirada’s Ryan Vargas has won the last two races and has assumed second in the championship points.  KCRP’s top two drivers will have to square off with as many as four visiting drivers who race at Lakeport and Ukiah Speedways in Northern California.

NASCAR Mini Stock points leader Billy Lay has overcome a summer surge from Dylan Baker to hold a 26 point lead with just two races to go.  Baker has won twice in the last five events.

Saturday night’s events are just $15 for Adults, $8 for Seniors 65+, Active Military, Children 6-15, and Children 5 and under are free!  A Family Pass for two adults and two seniors or children is $40 (Box office only).  Reserved stadium seats are $20.  Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. with autographs at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.
