2013 CITGO Lubricants Late Model champion David Mayhew kicked off his Pro Late Model campaign with a dominating win on April 19th but has to contend with MMI Racing teammate Johnny White, who is fresh off of a sweep of the CITGO LM Twin 35s back on April 26th.  2013 Pro Late Model champion Tim Smith is looking to add to his win list as well along with Dallas Montes looking to rebound after a rough outing in his first start.

Kern County Raceway Park has re-branded its Street Stock division to be the Super Stocks going forward, combining both older style Late Model cars with Street Stock cars.  John Piker won the opening race but it was a scant victory over former Mesa Marin Street Stock entry driven by Howie Smith.

The 911 Racing Series was one of the early highlights of the  Kern County Raceway Park 2014 season, with seven teams of first responders racing in identically prepared Pro 4 Modifieds on the quarter-mile.  Shafter PD and their detective Josh Stephens won round one after a tangle between Bakersfield PD and Bakersfield Fire.

Randy Smith, father of 2013 Pro Late Model champion Tim Smith, leads the NASCAR Mini Stock points by only two points over rookie Stacy Evans and Terry Pettit who are tied for second.  Evans is the former Rocky Hill Speedway champion on the dirt in Porterville and running her first full season on asphalt.

2013 Jr. Mini Dwarf champion Kyleigh Forster has picked up where she left off, leading the standings after winning the season opener.  On the Sr. Mini Dwarf side, Anthony Balcazar is looking to wrestle away the championship from Jerry Flippo.  Balcazar took round one in a close race against Flippo with Andrew Orlando lurking in third.

Saturday night’s events are just $15 for Adults, $8 for Seniors 65+, Active Military, Children 6-15, and Children 5 and under are free!  A Family Pass for two adults and two seniors or children is $40 (Box office only).  Reserved stadium seats are $20.  Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. with autographs at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.
