David Mayhew of Bakersfield, scored his ninth and tenth wins last Saturday and is closer to possibly winning the California state title crown.  Northern California Modified driver, Jay Linstroth is in the running as well.  Mayhew will have another chance to score points at Saturday’s twin bill.

Mayhew’s closest challenger in the points battle all season long has been Eric Richardson.  The three time main event winner in the Summeripe / Richpak Chevrolet overcame an opening lap crash to battle with Mayhew in both features last week.  The Bakersfield driver is primed to break into victory lane again on Saturday.

Brian Richardson and Gary Elmore were retired for the night after that opening lap crash and will look to get back into the swing of things on Saturday.  Rounding out the top-five in the points is Johnny White in a nearly identical MMI Services Chevrolet to his teammate Mayhew.

Josh Horn is sixth in the standings after a pair of top-fives last week ahead of Paul Ebersbacher, Ryan McDonald, Trevor Schlundt, and Greg Szot rounding out the top-ten in the standings.

The INEX Legends return to action after a two week break with 13 year-old Buddy Shepherd comfortably in command of the series ahead of Jonathan St. Ours, Ricky Schlick, Donny St. Ours, and Blaine Perkins.  Schlick, from Claremont, is the only car in the top-five without a win this year and he’ll have 30 laps to get after it for a $500 prize on Saturday night.

Rookie sensation Tyler Bannister continues to lead the INEX Bandolero class with a remarkable seven wins in eight races, with his loss to Tony Lamas in the July 6th race as the only blemish on a near perfect run.  Second in points Karson Sylvester is still in search for his first win while fifth in the points Ryan Vargas ranks fourth in the overall national points despite going winless at KCRP.

Both Jr. and Sr. Mini Dwarf divisions have had dominating figures, with Jerry Flippo undefeated this year in Sr. and Kyleigh Forester winning all but once in the Jr. class.  Both divisions race in 20 lap mains on the 1/8th mile speedway.

Saturday night’s events are just $15 for Adults, $8 for Seniors 65+, Active Military, Children 6-15, and Children 5 and under are free!  A Family Pass for two adults and two seniors or children is $40 (Box office only).  Reserved stadium seats are $20.  Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. with autographs at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.
