The Hart Indians take the stage for the first time this season in our featured KHTS Game of the Week against visiting Arcadia. The Indians (0-1) are looking for their first victory of the season in their home opener at Cougar Stadium.

Hart’s offense lacked the balance it needed from the passing game in last week’s loss at Downey, with junior quarterback Zach Johnson 16-for-26 for just 113 yards and interception. However, a running back might have emerged to carry the workload in senior Ethan Blair. Blair rushed 13 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns to provide the offense.
The Indians issues defensively were stopping the run, as the Downey Vikings ran for 244 yards and three touchdowns. They’ll find out tonight if the Apaches (1-1) plan to run more than they have in their first two games, but balance appears to be what Arcadia prefers (55 passing plays to 60 running plays).
Arcadia lost to a very good Cathedral team last week, 33-10, in which they were only down 12-10 at halftime before the Phantoms pulled away. The Apaches have experience at the skill positions with two seniors leading the way at both receiver and running back.
Hart joins the majority of Foothill League teams still in search of their first win. Only West Ranch and Saugus have claimed victories so far, and each are 2-0.
Friday’s Schedule:
Arcadia (1-1) vs Hart (0-1) at 7:30
