Valencia High School's Girls Tennis Team Claims 6th Straight League Title.
For the better part of this decade, our Valencia High School Girls Tennis Team has held the Foothill League title. Moreover they have been undefeated in the regular season since 2004. The Team finished their remarkable season with an outstanding record (198-36) and as the runner-up in the CIF-Southern Section Division III Finals. Impressively, they have been in the finals three years in a row.
The Lady Vikings toted the 1-2 punch of Courtney Kaska (12) and her doubles partner Lehren MacKay (12), and singles stars Isabella Fraczek (11) and Thalia Wilczynski (11). The Vikings will also be losing Nina Hwang (12) and Chloe Kwock (12) this year, but they’ve lost players before and like all great sports teams they have always found a way to win.
This program is truly great, and although it is stating the obvious, school sports have a different dynamic, especially due to student turnover. Something must be said of coaching when a program does this well for this long. Granted the students are the hands and feet of the sport but a coach who can consistently get the best out or their players and to perennially have a championship mind-set is going beyond the call of duty.
Congratulations to Coach Annie Kellogg and the Lady Vikings on another fantastic season. Other varsity team members include: Sydney Smith, Angela Chong, Alyssa Songyeera, Shin Jae Kim, Emily Fraczek, and Claricey Fraczek.
