Major League Baseball and PEOPLE magazine have teamed up to recognize those special selfless individuals who have gone above and beyond to strengthen their communities. The national “All-Stars Among Us” program was featured last year during the opening ceremonies of the All-Star game in St. Louis, with our country’s five living presidents providing a video tribute.

This year the recipients will be honored much closer to home, as the All-Star game will take place at Edison Field, the stomping grounds of the Los Angeles Angels. A total of 30 honorees will be chosen, one for each club.

PEOPLE magazine is known for telling stories of everyday citizens who have demonstrated acts of courage and goodwill. By partnering with Major League Baseball, both organizations can honor these individuals during one of television’s most-watched events.

Santa Clarita is full of giving residents that donate their time to non-profits, charities and community events. The nominations are due on May 14, so don’t miss the opportunity to let America recognize an admirable individual who has helped shaped Santa Clarita for the better.
