Santa Clarita Blue Heat Wins Fifth Game In A Row

Edite Fernandes scored the lone goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 12th minute.

Blue Heat goaltender Cynthia Jacobo made six saves to record the shutout.

In high school basketball, Chris Printz, who resigned as the coach of the boys team at Golden Valley High School in the winter, has taken the Simi Valley boys baksetball coaching job, according to a report in the LA Times.

In the NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat, 105-95, to win their first NBA championship in franchise history.

The Mavericks avenged losing the NBA title to the Heat in 2006.

Dirk Nowitzki earned the NBA Finals MVP. He scored 21 points in Game 6 and was instrumental in leading the Mavericks to wins in Games 4 and 5.

The Dodgers hit three home runs and exploded for a 10-8 win over the Colorado Rockies. James Loney hit a grand slam in a five-run, third inning. Matt Kemp and Rod Barrajas added solo shots for the Dodgers.

In other games, the Giants beat the Reds, 4-2, the Diamondbacks beat the Marlins, 5-1, and the Nationals shut out the Padres, 2-0.

The Brewers beat the Cardinals, 4-3, the Phillies beat the Cubs, 4-3, the Mets shut out the Pirates, 7-0, and the Braves beat the Astros, 4-1.

In the American League, the Royals shut out the Angels, 9-0, the Mariners beat the Tigers, 7-3, the White Sox beat the A’s  5-4, and the Twins beat the Rangers, 6-1.

The Yankees clobbered the Indians, 9-1, the Red Sox mauled the Blue Jays, 14-1, and the Rays beat the Orioles, 9-6.
