Santa Clarita Blue Heat Women’s Soccer Team Loses In Colorado

The Santa Clarita Blue Heat women’s soccer team lost to the Colorado Rapids, 2-1, in a W-League Western Conference game.

The Blue Heat dropped to 2-5-1 and are in sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

The Blue Heat plays the Colorado Rush on Sunday.

In men’s soccer, the Santa Clarita Storm takes on FC Hasental in a matchup with playoff implications at Canyon High on Sunday.

The Storm is in second place in the National Premier Soccer League West Southern Flight standings. Hasental is in first place, four points ahead of the Storm.

The game is the regular season home finale for the Storm. Kickoff is at 6.

In swimming, Hart High graduate Nick Korth was 11th in the 50 breaststroke at the US national swim meet in Indianapolis.

In high school football, the Saugus 13th annual Under the Lights 7-on-7 passing tournament begins today. The 24-team, two-day tournament includes the Hart and Canyon football teams.

Pool play begins at 3. The championship game is set to start at 7 on Saturday night.

In baseball, the Dodgers beat the visiting Philadelphia Phillies, 6-4, and won their sixth game in a row.

Yasiel Puig had only one hit in the game, but it was a big one. His two-run single in the seventh inning gave the Dodgers a one-run lead.

But he went 1-for-4 and his batting average dropped to .427.

The Dodgers and Phillies continue their series tonight at Dodger Stadium.
