The Santa Clarita Blue Heat women’s soccer team shut out the Colorado Rush, 3-0, to stay undefeated in the United Soccer League.
Edite Fernandes scored a goal and had two assists as the Blue Heat won their fourth game in a row.
The Blue Heat scored all three goals in the first half. Ann Marie Tangorra scored the first goal for the Blue Heat and assisted on the second goal.
In golf, West Ranch’s JJ Holen qualified for the US Amateur Public Links Championship after shooting a 2-under par 70 at the Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. He finished in second place with a two-day total of 144 in the qualifying tournament at Brookside.
He will join Hart’s Kendall Dusenberry, who qualified for the US Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship last week in Stockton.
Both US Amateur Public Links Championships will be at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon starting on June 27.

In the NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks pulled away in the fourth quarter and beat the Miami Heat, 112-103, in Game 5.
The Mavericks have a 3-2 lead in the series. Game 6 is in Miami on Sunday.
The Dodgers blew a four-run lead twice and lost to the Rockies, 9-7. Matt Kemp was a single away from the cycle. He hit a solo home run and drove in three runs but it wasn’t enough. The Rockies scored five runs in the seventh inning to take the lead.
In other games, the Diamondbacks shut out the Pirates, 2-0, the Padres beat the Nationals, 7-3 and the Reds shut out the Giants, 3-0.
The Braves beat the Marlins, 3-2, the Cardinals beat the Astros, 9-2, the Mets beat the Brewers, 4-1, and the Cubs beat the Phillies, 4-3 in 11 innings.
In the American League, the Tigers beat the Mariners, 4-1, the White Sox beat the A’s, 9-4, and the Rangers lost to the Twins, 5-4.
The Royals beat the Blue Jays, 3-2, and the Red Sox scored seven runs in the seventh inning and rallied to beat the Yankees, 8-3.
