Santa Clarita Christian Boys Basketball Team Blows First-Half Lead Against Milken

khts_sportsThe Santa Clarita Christian boys and girls basketball teams came away with losses to Milken last night.

The boys lost, 64-57, after building a nine-point lead midway through the game. Tikko Moore scored a team-high 15 points and had 12 rebounds for Santa Clarita Christian.

Luke Asher matched Moore with 15 points and Bret Ranhofer scored 13 for Santa Clarita Christian.

The girls lost to Milken, 70-21. Santa Clarita Christian trailed 41-12 at halftime after Milken went on a 20-2 run in the second quarter.

Taylor Cubas scored a team-high 10 points for Santa Clarita Christian.

The Hart boys basketball team will look to win its third Foothill League game in a row against Golden Valley tonight.

The Valencia boys basketball team will look to rebound after its first league loss of the season against Saugus.

The Canyon boys are on the road for a game against West Ranch.

On the girls side, Canyon also travels to West Ranch. Saugus is at Valencia and Hart is at Golden Valley.

There is a full slate of Foothill League soccer games today.

The Saugus girls are home against Valencia. Golden Valley travels to Hart and Canyon is home against West Ranch.

On the boys side, Hart is at Golden Valley, Canyon is at West Ranch and Saugus is at Valencia.

The Valencia Flyers will look to snap a five-game losing streak against the Phoenix Polar Bears tonight at the Ice Station.

The Flyers have a three-game series with the Polar Bears this weekend. The Flyers were swept in three games against the Idaho Junior Steelheaeds last weekend. They ended their series with a 4-3 loss to the Steelheads on Sunday.

Tonight and Saturday night’s games against the Polar Bears start at 7:15. Sunday’s game starts at 1.

The spiraling Kings lost to the Phoenix Coyotes, 2-0, for their third loss in a row. The Kings have lost all three games against the Coyotes this season.

The Coyotes, meanwhile, won their fourth road game in a row. Ilya Bryzgalov posted his 19th career shutout in goal for the Coyotes.

The Kings and Coyotes meet again on Saturday night in Phoenix.
