This week’s games:

Canyon versus Valencia

KHTS’ Game of the Week features two teams looking to win a Foothill League title and a win in this game puts them in position to do so.

Valencia seems to have gotten back on track. The Vikings struggled offensively in the league opener against Saugus but dominated in week two with a 42-6 victory over the Wildcats of West Ranch.

Give credit to Saugus, they gave the Cowboys all that they had and from start to finish the Centurions looked like they should have won the game.

However, a goal line stand and a missed field goal as time expired gave Canyon the victory.

Canyon needs to limit the mistakes and move the ball consistently on offense or the Vikings will make them pay.

Hart versus Saugus

Saugus has played back to back weeks where they showed flashes of greatness but could pull out the victory. Their defense looks very good and offensively they get better each week, but the Indians look to be the best team they have faced thus far.

Hart rolled in their victory last week against Golden Valley, scoring 61 points.

Saugus defense has played well, but the Indians have a ton of weapons on offense.

West Ranch versus Golden Valley

West Ranch struggled last week against Valencia on both sides of the ball. Their usually consistent defense gave up 42 points and offensively couldn’t get anything going. Look for them to bounce back against the Grizzlies

Golden Valley is still seeking their first win in Foothill League play.

The Wildcats have struggled in the first two weeks of league and these two teams seem to be evenly matched. We’ll see if Golden Valley can finally get a Foothill League win.

Be sure to tune in Friday at 7:00 p.m. for the Saugus versus Canyon on KHTS AM 1220.
