In the 2018 season opener of the KHTS Game of the Week, Valencia falls to Arbor View in 17-14 slugfest at Paul A. Priesz Stadium. The Saugus Centurions moved to 2-0 thanks in part to dropping 20 unanswered points on Agoura to close out the game. Golden Valley is reeling after starting the season 0-2, with Canyon and Hart also suffering Week One defeats.

Week One

KHTS Game of the Week

Final

Arbor View: 17

Valencia: 14

After scoring on the first play of the third quarter to take a 14-7 lead, the Vikings offense went stagnant, with 3-and-outs the rest of the way as they lose on a short field goal late in the fourth quarter. Senior defensive end/offensive tackle Ben Seymour starred on defense in the loss.

Final

Golden Valley: 7

Antelope Valley: 62

The Grizzlies have been outscored 108-14 in their first two games of the season.

Final

San Fernando: 42

Canyon: 27

Canyon goes down at home in season opener. Trailing 14-13 at half, things slipped away in the fourth quarter where the Cowboys gave up two touchdowns with under 6 minutes to play after cutting the lead to 28-20 at the end of the third.

Final

Hart: 21

Downey: 33

Ethan Blair (three rushing touchdowns) emerged as the Indians top option on offense, but the Indians didn’t have enough defensively to stop the Vikings.

Final

Agoura: 26

Saugus: 51

Finishing strong is becoming an early theme for the 2018 Centurions. They scored 20 unanswered points against the Chargers to close out the game.

Final

Rivera: 6

Trinity Classical Academy: 58

Edgar Romero (two first half touchdowns) and the Trinity Knights move to 2-0 with dominant win over Rivera. They have outscored their opponents 96-6 to open the season.
