Inclement weather didn’t stop Canyon Country Little Leaguers from taking advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train with professional players Sunday morning.

“We wanted to give the kids instruction they wouldn’t normally get,” said Kyle Wilson, double-A pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
LGCY Power and Sunrun sponsored the event that brought 50 little leaguers to get some tips from Wilson; Ryan Rogowski, a double-A outfielder; and Hector Ambriz, a major league baseball player.
Two college level softball players, Camille Brown and Morgan Simmons, were also on hand to help the girls out with their game techniques.
The players were separated into groups according to age, position and gender for the camp that started at 10 a.m. but had to be cut short due to the rain at 1 p.m.
“Sunrun and LGCY are companies that want to help out the community and make sure everyone has a good time and enjoy themselves,” said Wilson.
