Santa Clarita Sports: Canyon Boys Basketball Ranked No. 5 In CIF Poll

The Canyon boys basketball team is ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA poll.

The Hart boys basketball team is ranked No. 4 in the Division 2A poll.

The Hart boys are in first place in the Foothill League standings at 6-0. They are coming off a 83-43 blowout over West Ranch.

Santa Clarita High School Sports

The Canyon boys are tied for second place in the Foothill League standings with Valencia at 4-2. The Cowboys beat Golden Valley, 76-48, in their last Foothill League game.

The Santa Clarita Christian boys are ranked No. 4 in the Division 5A poll. Santa Clarita Christian is 14-4 overall and 2-0 in the Heritage League. The Cardinals are coming off a 73-36 blowout over Lancaster Baptist.

The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team is ranked No. 1 in the Division 6 poll. Trinity knocked of Pacifica Christian, 71-55, in its last game.

The Canyon girls basketball team is ranked No. 6 in the Division 1A poll. The Canyon girls are 5-1 and in second place in the Foothill League standings.

The Hart girls are ranked No. 9 in the Division 2A poll. They are in third place in the Foothill League at 3-3.

The Valencia girls, undefeated at 6-0 and in first place in the Foothill League standings, are not ranked.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Clippers lost on the road to the Denver Nuggets, 116-115. It was the second loss in the past three games for the Clippers. But they are 5-2 over their past seven games.

Next up for the Clippers are the Miami Heat at Staples Center on Wednesday.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-3. The Kings have lost nine of their past 10 games.

They take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at Staples Center on Thursday night.
