Santa Clarita Sports: Hart And Saugus Baseball In First After Dramatic Wins

The Kings kept the magic alive with a 4-3 overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Western Conference semifinals on Saturday.

The Kings will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series tonight.

Marian Gaborik scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Game 1. He also scored the goal that tied the score with seven seconds to play in regulation.

Game 2 is tonight in Anaheim. Listen to the game on AM 1220 KHTS. The puck drops at 7.

In high school baseball, the Hart and Saugus baseball teams are tied for first place again in the Foothill League after dramatic wins on Friday.

Hart beat West Ranch, 3-2. Nick Valaika hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game for Hart.

The Saugus baseball team beat Valencia, 8-5, squelching a seventh-inning rally by the Vikings.

Valencia scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut into the Saugus lead.

Brendan Griffith and Caden Gonzales each drove in two runs for the Centurions.

Hart and Saugus are in first place in the Foothill League at 8-3. Valencia and West Ranch are tied for third place in the Foothill League standings with 7-4 records.

The Canyon baseball team beat Golden Valley, 10-6.

Canyon is 3-8 in the Foothill League. Golden Valley is 0-11.

In college softball, the College of the Canyons lost two games to College of Desert and was eliminated from the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs.

The Lady Cougars lost the first game, 6-1, and the second game, 9-1, in the Southern California Regional.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Miami Marlins, 5-4. The Dodgers dropped two of three games over the weekend against the Marlins.

On a positive note, the Dodgers get Clayton Kershaw back for the series against the Washington Nationals. He will pitch on Tuesday.

Zack Greinke is up next for the Dodgers. He will face Jordan Zimmermann of the Nationals tonight.

First pitch is at 4:05.
