Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 10, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 10, 2015 – The Saugus softball team split a doubleheader against Camarillo. Saugus won the first game, 6-0, but lost the second game, 7-4.

Mariah Lopez tossed a two-hit shutout for Saugus in the first game. She struck out 18 and walked two.

Cayla Kessinger hit a two-run home run in the first game and was 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the second game.

Saugus is 13-7 and starts Foothill League play on Tuesday against Golden Valley.

In auto racing, the Verizon IndyCar Series will be in New Orleans for the inaugural Grand Prix of Louisiana this weekend. Bryan Herta Autosport will be there with driver Gabby Chaves in the second race of the season.

Chaves was 17th in his IndyCar Series debut with Bryan Herta Autosport in the season opener at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida.

The Grand Prix of Louisiana is Sunday. The race starts at 12:30.

In the major league, the Dodgers are in Arizona for a game against the Diamondbacks tonight.

Brett Anderson makes his first start for the Dodgers against Chase Anderson for the Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers have won two of their first three games of the season. First pitch is at 6:40.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Calgary Flames, 3-1, and were eliminated from the playoffs.

The Kings wrap up the regular season against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
