Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 13, 2015 – The College of the Canyons baseball team beat West LA College, 18-5, in a Western State Conference game.
Roy Verdejo went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs for COC.
His two-run double capped a five-run second inning.

COC improved to 17-12 overall and 9-5 in conference.
The Master’s College baseball team swept a doubleheader against William Jessup.
The Mustangs won the first game, 9-3, and the second game, 6-1.
Ty Galloway won his 10th game of the season. He went seven innings in the first game.
Conner Menez struck out a career-high 12 batters in the second game. He improved to a perfect 7-0.
The Master’s College baseball team is ranked No. 6 in the NAIA. They are 37-7 and 30-6 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
In auto racing, Gabby Chaves, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport, was 15th in the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana.
James Hinchcliffe won the race.
In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-4, and avoided the sweep in the desert. The Dodgers dropped their first two games of the series against the Diamondbacks.
Zack Greinke won his first game of the season. Alex Guerrero drove in four runs in his first start at third base.

The Dodgers return home to start a series against the Seattle Mariners tonight.
In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 120-106.
The Lakers take on the Sacramento Kings tonight.
In the NHL, the Kings beat the San Jose Sharks, 4-1, to end their season on a high note.
The Kings scored three goals in the third period to win the game.
But the Kings, the reigning Stanley Cup champions, missed the playoffs. The end the season with a 40-27-15 record.
