Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 23, 2015

The Valencia boys golf team won the Foothill League match at TPC at Valencia by eight strokes over Hart.

Valencia shot 407 as a team in the fifth Foothill League match of the season. The Valencia boys have won three Foothill League matches in a row.

Valencia’s Jackson Bright and Logan Dykes shot the low rounds of the match. They were both 7-over 79.

Hart was second in the match at 415. West Ranch was third at 419.

In high school baseball, Hart beat Valencia, 6-3, and took over first place in the Foothill League.

Hart scored five runs in the fifth inning. Robert Reeves drove in two runs with a double.

Hart improved to 6-1-1 in the Foothill League. Valencia dropped to 6-2.

The West Ranch baseball team beat Golden Valley, 7-2. West Ranch improved to 4-4 in league. Golden Valley dropped to 1-7.

The Saugus baseball team shut out Canyon, 2-0. Brendan Griffith had a RBI double in the fifth inning.

Canyon turned a triple play in the first inning.

Saugus improved to 5-2-1. Canyon dropped to 1-7.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the San Antonio Spurs, 111-107, in overtime in Game 2 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series.

Game 3 is in San Antonio on Friday.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the San Francisco Giants, 3-2. The Giants scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Dodgers have lost two straight to the Giants.

The two teams wrap up their series today in San Francisco.

Mike Bolsinger starts for the Dodgers against Ryan Volgesong for the Giants.

First pitch is at 12:45.
