Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 3, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 3, 2015 – The Hart and Saugus baseball teams played to a 2-2 tie. Each team scored two runs in the third inning. The score remained tied until the game was called after the 13th inning because of darkness.

Rex Kemple hit a two-run home run for Hart. Colby Kaneshiro knocked in two runs with a single for Saugus.

Hart is 3-1-1 in the Foothill League. Saugus is 2-2-1.

The West Ranch baseball team shut out Canyon, 15-0. Phil Olivero hit a grand slam in the sixth inning. He was 3-for-5 and drove in six runs.

Ryan Beddeo had two hits and drove in three runs.

West Ranch is 3-2 in the Foothill League.

The Valencia baseball team beat Golden Valley, 18-2, and moved into sole possession of first place in the Foothill League standings.

Devin Davis hit a home run and had two doubles. He drove in five runs.

The Vikings are 4-1 in the Foothill League.

In high school volleyball, the Valencia boys swept Saugus in three games. Jordan Ross had 12 kills. The Vikings are 2-0 in the Foothill League.

In college baseball, The Master’s College swept a doubleheader against Arizona Christian. The Mustangs won the first game, 11-0, and the nightcap, 3-1.

In the NHL, the Kings bet the Edmonton Oilers, 8-2, and moved into a playoff spot.

The Kings scored three goals in the first period and rolled from there.

Los Angeles Sports News

They have the eighth and final playoff spot with nine days left in the regular season.

They play the Colorado Avalanche at Staples Center on Saturday night.
