Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 8, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: April 8, 2015 – The Hart softball team beat Sunny Hills, 9-2, in the Woodbridge Tournament in Irvine.

Abby Sweet was 3-for-4 and drove in three runs for Hart. She has seven hits in her past two games in the tournament.

Kylie Norwood drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double. Sienna Vannoy had two hits and drove in two runs.

Hart improved to 7-4.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Lakers, 105-100. The Clippers have won seven straight games against the Lakers and 11 of their past 12.

The Clippers continue their playoff push against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

The Lakers continue their worst season in franchise history against the Denver Nuggets tonight.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the San Diego Padres, 7-3. The Padres scored four runs in the ninth inning to win the game.

The Dodgers and Padres finish their three-game series tonight at Dodger Stadium.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Edmonton Oilers, 4-2, and had the playoff hopes all but doused.

The Kings trail the Winnipeg Jets by three points and the Calgary Flames by two points for the final playoff spot. There are only two games left in the regular season.

The Kings move on to Calgary to play the Flames and keep their playoff hopes alive on Thursday night.
