College of the Canyons
Baseball: Cougars found their offensive stride against Antelope Valley, outscoring the Marauders 26-10 in the last two games of the series.
Thanks in large part to the dominance by sophomore Calvin Estrada.
Estrada went a perfect 6-for-6 with four runs, eight RBIs and two homers, and completed the cycle. He is currently hitting .357 with a massive .544 on-base percentage. The next closest Cougar to him in home runs has five (he has nine).
Conference play rolls on for COC, with a three-game series against Citrus College this week. First pitch for the first game is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:30.
Softball: Canyons bounced back from a 1-0 loss against Mt. SAC on Friday to sweep Santa Barbara in the double-header Saturday. Sammie Burleson scored on a passed ball for the Cougars to pick up the second win in extra innings.
