Santa Clarita Sports Report: August 21, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: August 21, 2015 – The Master’s College men’s soccer team won its season opener, 2-1, over Carroll College.

The Master’s College scored both goals in the second half. Austin Rochow gave the Mustangs a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 46th minute.

Carroll tied the score three minutes later.

Humphrey Mahowa scored the game-winner in the 54th minute.

In golf, Santa Clarita’s Jonathan Kang finished in a tie for 16th place in the American Junior Golf Association Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy / Shanshan Feng Junior Championship.

Kang was 3-over for the three-round tournament. He shot a 1-over 73 in the final round.

Joshua McCarthy from Danville won the tournament. He was 11-under and won by four strokes.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers are in Houston to start a weekend series against the Astros tonight.

The Dodgers have lost two games in a row, both to the A’s in Oakland.

Brett Anderson starts for the Dodgers tonight against Mike Fiers for the Astros.

First pitch is at 5:10.
