Santa Clarita Sports Report: August 25, 2015 – Rodrigo Ornelas won the final College of the Canyons Cross Country Series race. He completed the 3-mile course in 15 minutes, 9.3 seconds.

Chris Kollar was second in 15 minutes, 32.7 seconds.

Robbie Santoyo was third in 15 minutes, 44.1 seconds.

Eleven-year-old Alexis Fernandez won the women’s race in 17 minutes, 43.9 seconds.

Sophia Pearson was second in 18 minutes, 27.8 seconds.

Jessica Gallardo was third in 18 minutes, 39.0 seconds.

This was the seventh race in the COC Cross Country Series.

In auto racing, Gabby Chaves, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport in the Verizon IndyCar Series, finished in 11th place at the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway.

He led for 31 laps in the race.

Ryan Hunter-Reay won the race. It was his second win of the season.

Justin Wilson suffered a head injury resulting from a crash late in the race. He died on Monday from the injuries he sustained during the race.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers are in Cincinnati to start a series against the Reds tonight.

The Dodgers have lost five games in a row and were swept by the Houston Astros over the weekend.
