Santa Clarita Sports Report: August 27, 2015 – The Master’s College men and women’s cross country teams are ranked in the top 25 in the NAIA preseason polls.

The Master’s College men are ranked No. 12 in the NAIA. They were ranked No. 18 at the end of the 2014 season.

Southern Oregon received 17 first place votes and is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA preseason poll.

The Master’s College women are ranked No. 5 in the NAIA preseason poll. They are tied with Dordt College from Iowa.

Northwest Christian from Oregon is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA preseason poll. The team received 14 first place votes.

The Master College men and women open their seasons at the UC Irvine Invitational on Sept. 5.

In soccer, The Master’s College women tied Trinity International, 0-0, in their season opener in Illinois.

Trinity is the No. 17 team in the NAIA.

The Master’s College women play Spring Arbor University from Michigan, the No. 8 team in the NAIA, today.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds, 7-4, and hit three home runs in the game.

All three home runs came in the fourth inning. AJ Ellis and Yasiel Puig hit two-run shots. Scott Van Slyke opened the onslaught with a solo home run.
