Santa Clarita Sports Report: December 01, 2014: The Saugus girls cross country team won another CIF State title.
Brian Zabilski from Saugus became the first runner from the school to win a CIF individual championship.
The Saugus girls won the CIF State Division 2 championship. It was their eighth in the past nine seasons.

Samantha Ortega was the top-finishing runner in the state final at Woodward Park in Fresno. She was fifth in 17 minutes, 54 seconds.
Four runners for Saugus finished in the top 25.
Zabilski won the CIF State Division 2 race in 15 minutes, 7 seconds. He is the first male runner from the Santa Clarita Valley to win a CIF individual title in cross country.
Tucker Welker from West Ranch competed as an individual and was 25th in the CIF State Division 2 race.
In high school volleyball, the Santa Clarita Christian girls lost to Parker from San Diego in three games in the CIF State Division 5 playoffs.
Santa Clarita Christian won the Southern Section Division 5AA championship and reached the second round of the Division 5 State playoffs. The girls finished with a 19-8-1 record.
College Of The Canyons Sports
In college volleyball, the College of the Canyons women lost to Irvine Valley College in three games in the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs.
The COC women reached the second round of the Southern California Regionals. They finish the season with a 21-4 record.
