Santa Clarita Sports Report: December 16, 2014: Three players from Trinity Classical Academy were selected to the All-CIF Southern Section Division 2 8-man football team.

Colton Oshiro earned a spot on the offensive team.

Caden Kulp and Ian Caddow were selected to the defensive team.

In high school basketball, the Saugus and Canyon boys teams are ranked in the top 15 of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA preseason poll.

Saugus is ranked No. 12 and Canyon is No. 13.

Santa Clarita Sports

Glendora is the No. 1 team in Division 2AA.

The Hart boys are ranked No. 7 in the Division 2A preseason poll. Compton is No. 1.

The Valencia girls are ranked No. 15 Division 1AA preseason poll. Long Beach Poly is No. 1.

The Canyon girls are ranked No. 11 in Division 2AA. The Saugus girls are tied for No. 15. Redondo Union is the No. 1 team in Division 2AA.

The Hart girls are ranked No. 6 in Division 2A. Buena is No. 1.

The Trinity Classical Academy girls basketball team is ranked No. 12 in the Division 5A preseason poll.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Indiana Pacers, 110-91.

The Lakers are 8-17. Next up for the Lakers are the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.

Los Angeles Sports

The Clippers knocked off the Detroit Pistons, 113-91. The Clippers are 17-7.

They play the Pacers on Wednesday night.

In the NHL, the Kings take on the Blues in St. Louis tonight. The Kings are 1-3 on their current road trip. They are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
