Santa Clarita Sports Report: December 22, 2014: The Canyon boys basketball team opened with a 52-40 win over Agoura in the San Fernando Valley Invitational.

But Canyon lost to Alemany, 59-28, in the quarterfinals. Canyon dropped to 5-5. Alemany improved to 6-1.

The Saugus boys basketball team lost to Crespi, 59-37, in the quarterfinals of the San Fernando Valley Invitational. Caleb Grisanti led Saugus with nine points.

The Centurions dropped to 6-3. Crespi is undefeated at 8-0.

The Golden Valley boys basketball team lost to Lancaster, 78-77. Bryce Tyler-St.Clair scored 25 points for Golden Valley.

The Grizzlies dropped to 3-4. Lancaster is 2-4.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings, 108-101. The Lakers have lost three games in a row.

They play the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center on Tuesday night.

In the NHL, the Kings take on the Calgary Flames tonight.

The Kings have won two games in a row. They are coming off a 4-2 win over the Coyotes on Saturday.
