COC Cougars
The Cougars basketball teams continue in opposite directions.
The men lost their 12th consecutive game and remain winless in the Western State Conference after a 92-62 loss at home to Citrus. Victor Nwaba led all scoreres with 22 points as the lone bright spot for Canyons.
On the other hand, the women won their 16th in a row and stayed perfect in WSC play with a 72-61 victory over Citrus.
Monica Friedl had 26 points and 12 rebounds and frontcourt mate Hannah Green was one block away from another triple-double. The sophomore finished with a 17-18-9 stat line. The Cougars are 11-0 in the conference.
Canyons baseball team is off to a hot start winners of four straight to open the season. The Cougars are at Allan Hancock today.
