Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 12, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 12, 2015: The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team beat Glendale College, 74-69 in overtime, and won their third game in a row.

The score was tied, 60-60, at the end of regulation. COC outscored Glendale, 14-9, in overtime.

Coley Apsay scored 24 points to lead COC. The Cougars are 14-10 and 6-5 in the Western State Conference.

Monica Friedl scored 24 points for COC. The Lady Cougars are 15-11 and 5-6 in conference.

In college baseball, The Master’s College beat Simpson, 8-4, and won their ninth game in a row.

John Brazil was 4-for-4 and Nick Covello drove in two runs for The Master’s College, ranked No. 20 in the NAIA.

The Mustangs are 10-2 overall. They take on Arizona Christian in a three-game Golden State Athletic Conference series this weekend.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the visiting Houston Rockets, 110-95, and won their second game in a row.

DeAndre Jordan scored 24 points and had 20 rebounds.

The Lakers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, 102-86. The Lakers have lost six games in a row.

Both teams are off for the All-Star break this weekend.
