Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 18, 2015: The Hart boys soccer team is the No. 1 seed in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.
But the CIF did not do the Foothill League any favors. Only three teams from the Foothill League are in the playoffs.
Hart, the Foothill League champion, opens the playoffs at home against the winner of the wild-card game between Santa Paula and Santa Monica.
The Hart boys were unbeaten in the Foothill League at 8-0-2 and are 21-1-4 overall.

The Saugus boys open the playoffs on the road against Cate from Carpinteria. Cate won the Southern Section Division 7 championships in 2011 and 2012. The Cate boys are making their debut in Division 4.
The Valencia boys play El Segundo, the champion of the Ocean League, in the first round.
The Santa Clarita Christian girls
The Hart girls open the Division 2 playoffs at home against Yucaipa. The Hart girls are the Foothill League champion and have a 13-3-7 record.
The West Ranch girls open the playoffs at home against Westlake.
The Canyon girls are on the road in the first round and play Redlands, the champion of the Citrus Belt League.
In college basketball, The Master’s College men beat San Diego Christian, 89-80 in overtime, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game.

The Master’s College men improved to 9-15 and 4-9 in conference.
The Master’s College women’s basketball team beat San Diego Christian, 80-50. The Master’s College women are 19-7 and 9-4 in conference.
In the NHL, the Kings are on the road and play the Colorado Avalanche tonight.
The Kings have won five games in a row. They are coming off a 3-2 win over the Tampa Lightning.
