Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 24, 2015: The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team plays Harbor in the first round of the California Junior College Southern California playoffs on Wednesday night.

The COC men are 15-12 and open the playoffs on the road. The winner will play San Bernardino, the No. 3 seed in the Southern California Regionals.

Antelope Valley College is the No. 4 seed in the Southern California Regionals. The AV College men play East Los Angeles College in their first round game.

Mt. San Antonio College is the No. 1 seed in the Southern California Regionals and 26-1.

In high school baseball, Hart is ranked No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 preseason poll. Hart is the only team from the Foothill League ranked in the top 10.

In high school softball, Santa Clarita Christian is ranked No. 10 in the Southern Section Division 7 preseason poll. Santa Clarita Christian is the only softball team from the Santa Clarita Valley ranked in the top 10 of any CIF preseason poll.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, 90-87, and had their four-game winning streak snapped.

The Clippers will try to right their ship against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

In the NHL, the Kings play the Detroit Red Wings tonight at Staples Center.

The Kings have won seven games in a row and are coming off a 2-1 win over the Sharks in a Stadium Series game in Santa Clara.
