Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 26, 2015 – The Canyon girls basketball team beat Oak Hills from Hesperia, 65-50, in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs.

The Canyon girls are in the quarterfinals of the CIF playoffs for the sixth year in a row.

Alaina Garcia scored 16 points and made three 3-pointers off the bench.

Canyon plays Mira Costa on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

The Hart girls basketball team beat Tustin, 65-44, in the second round of the Southern Section Division 2A playoffs. The Hart girls are in the quarterfinals of the CIF playoffs for the first time in eight years.

Emma Johnson scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers for Hart.

The Hart girls play San Jacinto on Saturday.

The Valencia girls beat Upland, 75-48, in the second round of the Southern Section Division 1AA playoffs.

Four players from Valencia scored in double figures. Kayle Konrad led the way with 23 points.

The Valencia girls take on Lynnwood in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

In high school soccer, the Hart boys beat Laguna Beach, 3-1 on penalty kicks, in the second round of the Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.

The two teams played to a scoreless draw in regulation and overtime.

The Hart boys are the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. They play Great Oak from Temecula in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

In the NBA, the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz, 100-97. They play the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

The Clippers lost to the Houston Rockets, 110-105. The Clippers play the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

In the NHL, the Kings take on the Ottawa Senators tonight. The Kings have an eigh-game winning streak and are coming off a 1-0 shutout against the Detroit Red Wings.
