Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 27, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: February 27, 2015 – The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team made a quick exit in the Southern California Regional playoffs.

The COC men lost to Harbor College, 60-46, in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regionals.

Coley Apsay scored 17 points for COC. The COC men finish with a 15-13 record.

The Master’s College men’s basketball team beat Biola, 71-69, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game.

The Master’s College had four players score in double figures. Russell Byrd scored 23 and had 11 rebounds.

The Master’s College men improved to 10-16 and 5-10 in conference.

The Master’s College women’s basketball team beat Biola, 73-42, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game.

The Master’s College women improved to 20-8 and 10-5 in conference.

In college baseball, The Master’s College beat Corban, 5-4. The Master’s College scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game.

The Master’s College improved to 17-4.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the visiting Ottawa Senators, 1-0, and had their eight-game winning streak snapped.

The Senators scored the go-ahead goal in the third period.

The Kings are back on the ice tonight against the Anaheim Ducks.
