Santa Clarita Sports Report: January 06, 2015: The Master’s College men’s basketball team beat Simpson, 92-83, and snapped a little two-game losing streak.

Four players from The Master’s College scored in double figures. Korey Anderson led the way with 25 points. Chris Patureau scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds. He was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field with three 3-pointers.

The Master’s College men improved to 4-8. They take on UC Merced on Thursday.

In high school basketball, the West Ranch boys lost to Oak Park, 86-54, in the New Year’s Showcase at Calabasas High School.

Ryan Beddeo led West Ranch with 17 points. The Wildcats dropped to 8-8.

The Albert Einstein Academy boys basketball team lost to Heritage Christian, 51-38. Anthony Dickson scored 12 points for Einstein.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Trail Blazers in Portland, 98-94, without Kobe Bryant. The Lakers are 2-5 in their past seven games.

The Clippers lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 107-98, and had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Blake Griffin scored 26 points and DeAndre Jordan had 16 rebounds for the Clippers in the loss.

The Lakers and Clippers play against each other on Wednesday.
