Santa Clarita High School Boys Basketball

Valencia (9-8, 2-0) had the upper hand against Golden Valley (7-10, 1-1) with a 42-32 win at home. Today the Vikings will Chatsworth in the Clash at College of the Canyons, with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The Golden Valley Grizzlies will take on Univeristy tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Saugus (12-4, 2-0) secured their second league win with a 67-64 victory over West Ranch (8-9, 0-2). Anthony McIntyre picked up 20 points and Zach Phipps was right behind him with 15 points. Today, the Centurions will take on Fremont in the Clash at College of the Canyons with game time scheduled for 5:00 p.m. The Wildcats will take on Saugus (MA) tonight at home.

Hart (12-6, 1-1) picked up their first league victory against Canyon (5-12, 0-2) with a 59-47 win at home. The Cowboys will play Bernstein today in the Clash at College of the Canyons today at 2:00 p.m.

Santa Clarita Christian (7-2,1-0) suffered a 53-46 loss at home against Renaissance Academy. SCCS will play the Brentwood School in the Slam Jam Showcase at Camarillo High School. Tip-off for that game will be at 3:30 p.m.

Trinity (5-12,0-2) will travel to Valley Torah for a Heritage League game. Game time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Santa Clarita High School Girls Basketball

Coming off of a 82-5 Foothill League win last time out, the Valencia Vikings (15-4, 2-0) picked up their second league win with a 63-20 win over Golden Valley (8-10, 0-2). Kayla Konrad put up 19 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists.

Saugus (9-11, 1-1) picked up their first league win with a 54-40 win against West Ranch (5-14, 0-2).

Canyon (11-7, 2-0) also went perfect in the first week of the Foothill League with a 59-40 win over rival school Hart (6-11, 1-1). Daisy Cardenas led her team in scoring with 15 points, and Rachel Bowers put up 14 points to go along with eight rebounds.

3 Valencia (9-2-3, 2-0) collected six goals in a 6-1  home win over Golden Valley (1-8-2, 0-1-1). 

Saugus (8-4-3, 2-0) picked up their second league win this week with a 3-0 win over West Ranch (2-4-1, 0-2). Senior James Johnson picked up two goals in the win for the Centurions.

4 Hart (11-4-2, 1-1) won their first league game of the season with a 3-1 victory over rivals Canyon (0-9-5, 0-1-1). Jaden Nguyen scored two goals in the win for the Indians.

Santa Clarita High School Girls Soccer

9 Hart (12-2-2, 0-0-2) and Canyon (5-7-2, 1-0-1) couldn’t break a 1-1 tie last night. Shelby Cooper was the lone goal scorer for the Cowboys.

Saugus (4-8-3, 0-0-2) and West Ranch (6-3-4, 0-0-2) both had very little chances as they tied 0-0.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers will be looking to turn it around as they return to the Staples Center as the visitors. The Clippers will play host to the purple and gold today at 12:30 PST
