Santa Clarita Sports Report: January 19, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: January 19, 2015: The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team beat Glendale College, 70-47, in a Western State Conference game.

Ricardo Greaves scored 15 points, had 10 rebounds and five blocks for COC.

The Cougars improved to 10-7, 2-2 in the Western State Conference South Division.

The College of the Canyons women’s basketball team lost to Glendale College, 62-58.

The COC women led by 13 points at halftime.

Monica Friedl scored 12 points and 16 rebounds for COC.

The Master’s College men’s basketball team beat San Diego Christian College, 79-62, and won its first Golden State Athletic Conference game.

Russell Byrd scored 32 points and had eight rebounds for The Master’s College.

The Mustangs improved to 6-10 and 1-5 in conference.

The Master’s College women beat San Diego Christian, 72-51. Bianca Cubello scored 16 points and had nine rebounds.

In high school basketball, the Trinity Classical Academy boys beat Rancho Christian, 71-61.

Ian Caddow and Ryan Brooks each scored 21 points.

Trinity improved to 12-4.

The Valencia boys beat Kennedy, 70-32. Dakota Abbott scored 18 points.

The Vikings improved to 14-5.

In the NHL, the Kings take on the Calgary Flames tonight at Staples Center.

The Kings are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

The Kings have lost five of their past six games.
