Santa Clarita Sports Report: January 29, 2015: The Saugus boys basketball team beat Canyon, 47-38, and won its first Foothill League game in nearly two years.
Saugus snapped a 14-game losing streak against league opponents. The last time the Saugus boys won a Foothill League game was against Golden Valley in 2013.

Caleb Grisanti scored 19 points for Saugus. The Canyon boys were playing without star guard Ben Taufahema.
Saugus improved to 11-12 overall and 1-4 in league. Canyon dropped to 12-11 and 2-3 in league.
The Valencia boys beat Hart, 54-52, and are tied for first place in the Foothill League after the first five games.

The West Ranch boys beat Golden Valley, 69-45, to keep pace with Valencia for first place in league.
Both Valencia and West Ranch are 4-1 in the Foothill League. Hart is 3-2. Golden Valley is 1-4.
The Valencia girls beat Hart, 69-45. It was Hart’s first Foothill League loss of the season. Valencia and Hart are tied for first place in league with 4-1 records.
The Canyon girls beat Saugus, 46-39, to create a three-way tie for first place in the Foothill League.
Freshman Rachel Bowers scored 14 points for Canyon. The Canyon girls are 4-1 after the first five league games.
