Santa Clarita Sports Report: July 14, 2015 – Saugus High graduate Abbey Weitzeil won a bronze medal with the 400-meter medley relay team for the United States at the World University Games in Korea.

She was also fifth in the 50-meter freestyle.

Weitzeil won a gold and silver medal at the World University Games. She won gold with the 400-meter freestyle relay team and won silver in the 100-meter freestyle.

In auto racing, Gabby Chaves, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport on the Verizon IndyCar Series, was 11th at the race at the Milwukee Mile.

Sebastien Bourdais won the race.

In the major leagues, Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson reached the final round of the Home Run Derby at the All Star game in Cincinnati.

Pederson lost to Todd Frazier from the Cincinnati Reds who won the Home Run Derby, 15-14.

Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke was selected as the starter for the National League. He leads the major leagues with a 1.39 ERA. He also has a 35 2/3 scoreless innings streak.

The All Star game is tonight. First pitch is at 4:30.
