Santa Clarita Sports Report: July 15, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: July 15, 2015 – Three players from the Foothill League were selected to the Cal Hi Sports All State team.

Hart Jack Ralston, Valencia’s Scott Ogrin and West Ranch’s Jagger Rusconi earned spots on the first team.

Ralston was 7-3 with a 2.06 ERA and 72 strikeouts for Hart in his senior season. He led Hart to the championship game of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

Ogrin hit .509 with six home runs and 28 RBIs in his junior season at Valencia. He also had 56 hits and 16 doubles.

Rusconi hit .416 with four home runs and five triples for West Ranch. He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball draft.

Los Angeles Dodgers News

In the major leagues, the American League won the All Star Game, 6-3, over the National League in Cincinnati.

Mike Trout of the Angels led off the game with a home run and won the MVP of the All Star Game. He is the first player to win back-to-back All Star Game MVPs.

The Dodgers are off until Friday. They play the Nationals in Washington, D.C.
