Santa Clarita Sports Report: July 21, 2015

Santa Clarita Sports Report: July 21, 2015 – The Elite Dance Studios in Santa Clarita won a national championship at the LA Dance Magic event.

The dance team won a National Junior Grand Championship and was runner-up in two other events.

A fourth team earned a fourth place trophy.

Taylor Kakiki, one of the dancers on the team, was the second runner-up in the Magic Dancer of the Year and earned a spot with the LA Dance Magic Touring Company.

In softball, two players from the Santa Clarita Valley were selected to the Max Preps Freshman All American team.

Valencia catcher Allysa Shipman and Albert Einstein Academy pitcher Cassidy Cangemi earned spots on the All American team.

In baseball, Valencia shortstop Scott Ogrin was selected to the Max Preps Junior All American team.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Atlanta Braves, 7-5

Adrian Gonzalez hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning. It was his 21st home run of the season.

The Dodgers and Braves continue their series tonight in Atlanta. Brett Anderson starts for the Dodgers against Alex Wood for the Braves.
